Fate and choice

We’re all sleeping and being told a story

Imagine that life is like a dream, and in this dream, we are being told a story. This story is not just any story, but the intricate and unique story of our lives. Every thought, every feeling, and every experience is a crucial part of this grand narrative. From the mundane to the extraordinary, each moment we live weaves into the fabric of our existence. Our dreams, aspirations, successes, and even our failures all contribute to the richness and depth of this ongoing tale. Just as a story has many chapters, our lives are filled with various phases and events that define who we are and who we will become.

The Voices Inside Our Heads

Throughout our daily lives, we often hear a voice in our heads that seems to accompany us in every situation. This voice is constantly at work, guiding us through various scenarios, making us think deeply about our actions, and helping us make decisions both big and small. For instance, when you're about to cross the street, something inside you instinctively says, "Look both ways." This inner voice is not just a random thought; it is part of the ongoing narrative that shapes our experiences and decisions. Whether we are aware of it or not, this internal dialogue plays a significant role in how we navigate the world around us, offering advice, caution, and wisdom as we go about our daily routines. It is a key part of the story we are told, shaping our thoughts and actions in small but important ways.

Assigned Spirits Guiding Us

Some believe that these voices come from spirits assigned to us. Think of these spirits as invisible friends who guide us through life. Some spirits bring positive energy, making us feel hopeful and happy. For example, when you feel confident before a big test, it might be because of a positive spirit. On the other hand, some spirits bring negative energy, causing fear or anger. Like when you feel anxious without any clear reason, it might be due to a negative spirit.

Thoughts and Fate

Our brain acts like a complex radio receiver, continuously picking up various thoughts, ideas, and signals from the universe around us. These thoughts can influence our actions and decisions in ways that might seem mysterious or even magical. If our actions are driven by these seemingly external thoughts, then our lives might start to feel predetermined, as if everything is already planned out by some unseen force. For instance, imagine you suddenly decide to take a different route to work one morning without any clear reason. Later, you find out that by doing so, you avoided a major accident. In such moments, it feels as though fate or some cosmic guidance played a role in steering you away from harm. This sense of being guided by an invisible hand can make life feel like a series of interconnected events, all part of a grand design.

The Purpose of Life

If everything in our lives is already planned, we might find ourselves questioning what the purpose of life is. The answer to this profound question could be that the purpose is simply to experience life in all its richness and complexity. We are like lights, each one of us uniquely experiencing human life with all its ups and downs, the highs and lows that make life what it is. For example, the joy of spending time with loved ones, sharing moments of happiness and creating lasting memories, or the valuable lessons learned from a challenging job that pushes us to grow and develop new skills. These experiences, whether joyful or difficult, contribute to the tapestry of our lives, making each moment meaningful and worthwhile.

Choosing Our Own Story

If our lives are stories being told to us, it might seem like we have no control over the narrative. Events and circumstances could appear predetermined, making us feel like mere characters in a scripted play. However, this perception is not entirely accurate. We can still choose our own stories by setting intentions and listening to our inner voices, shaping the plot in meaningful ways.

For instance, if you aspire to become more patient, set that specific intention with a clear and focused mind. Reflect on moments when impatience arises and make a conscious decision to respond differently. By doing so, you start recognizing subtle cues and guidance from your inner voice that direct you towards patience and calmness, especially in stressful situations. This ongoing process of intention-setting and mindful listening allows you to gradually rewrite your story, filling it with the qualities and values you want to get.

The Source of All Stories

The source of these stories and spirits is a higher power, often referred to as God, a divine entity that is the origin of all things. Everything in our lives, all experiences and events, come from this profound source. If we seek to change our story or alter the course of our lives, we have the option to pray or set intentions, trusting in the guidance and insights we receive from this higher power. For instance, if you pray for courage, you might notice that you start to feel braver and more confident in facing difficult times and challenges. This newfound bravery could manifest in various aspects of your life, helping you to navigate obstacles with a stronger, more resilient spirit.
